Okay, I finally managed to talk to my manager this morning. He was supportive I guess. He told me to let him know if I needed anything, and wished me luck with my job apps. I was hoping for more of a magic wand waving, but I guess that will have to do.
Option#1 for internal movement has been nixed. They’re already in the process of offering the job to another applicant. I missed the boat on that one. Now I just have to get the second option to actually post an opening so that I can get an app up there. It will just be another rut to fall into, but at least it would be a different rut. That might be enough to help me tolerate this place for a little while longer.
